Karoo Times, which first launched under the Africa InTouch News banner on April 1, officially rolled out as a standalone publication with its own dedicated website on July 1.

The move follows three months of steady development and positive reader engagement. Now published at www.karootimes.co.za, it is is one of a growing list of regional and niche titles under the iOlogue Media umbrella. These include De Kaap EchoThe Travel ThreadRivier Rekord, and Flip the Market.

The platform was developed as part of the broader publishing vision of Anchen Coetzee, founder and CEO of iOlogue Media. Coetzee established Africa InTouch in 2016, which later formed the foundation of iOlogue Media. Karoo Times is the latest addition to the group, with a strong focus on matters affecting the Karoo’s people, land, and towns.

Naomi Roebert, editor for Karoo Times, is a senior writer at iOlogue Media and the Marketing & Operations Manager of Africa InTouch. Roebert brings extensive experience in editorial direction, operations, and content production. Her role combines a clear editorial vision with a personal connection to the region and its communities, as she lives on a Karoo farm.

Karoo Times focuses on issues that directly affect the Karoo. Its coverage includes business, agriculture, heritage, infrastructure, innovation, and regional lifestyle. The goal is not to mirror national news cycles, but to offer well-curated content that reflects what matters in the Karoo, with every article centred on regional relevance.

Although the website is still in development, all stories going forward will be published there. Readers are welcome to visit the site as it takes shape, with new content being added regularly. We appreciate your patience and support during this transition period as we continue building a dedicated space for voices, stories, and matters affecting the Karoo.

"Karoo Times is about reflecting the heart of the region," said Roebert. "We are building a platform that understands the pace, people, and importance of this unique part of South Africa."

While the publication is yet to appoint a formal representative, relationships with local contributors are being established. The wider iOlogue Media team also continues to support the platform with editorial, design, and production assistance.

Karoo Times is now live and welcomes input from residents, farmers, entrepreneurs, and readers across the Karoo.
